Sages of the Ages: I quote the sages of the ages just enough to show I am not first with the ideas. Each of the 20 concepts have links to one or more sages. 97 quotes are distributed among 20 sages, including Jesus with the most quotes at 28 more than a quarter of the total. Seventeen of the 20 sages are European. Exceptions are Lao Tzu, Sun Tzu, and Buddha. I suspect most of my intended audience has at least four great grandparents that were Christian. I left many sages off my list. The list gives a small sample of the wisdom of the ages. It overlaps with mentors and reflects bias as does any "top 100" list. I refer to Jesus more than any other because he is most familiar to my audiences. Parentheses enclosing numbers () in the list below indicate links to first in series.
