Appearance vrs. "In-Itself": Reason and its variant, mathematics, seem to bear some special relationship to something we call “reality”, or “truth”. Philosophy can only occur in a particular, single mind that of necessity of experience and genes has incoherent world views based on seemingly ethereal but surely unreliable memories. Words for “reality”: phenomenal vrs nuominal (Kant); nominal sense vrs real essence (Locke); mind vrs body, corpuscular vrs ethereal, subjective vrs objective; observation vrs reason; mathematics vrs metaphysics; truth vrs falsehood; good vrs bad; etc. etc.
