Klein Bottle (invented by me)
July 1977, 8½x11, pencil on lined paper Ever stoned my second thesis summer on 1/4 pound of marijuana my geologist friend Kim Greeman set me up with, I envisioned a Moibus curve enveloping space. This was the first success; I "invented" the form of the Klein Bottle that summer of 1977. The next four images are explorations of geometry of 3D mobius curves. I learned years later it has a name, first described in 1882 by the German mathematician Felix Klein. That creative summer of 1977 I also "invented" the Membrane Series, I learned later they were Calabi-Yau manifolds.
