In Revelations John heard and saw someone, presumably Jesus. The apparition, after describing how he knows each of seven churches has done well, he tells four of them:
"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee" ............. Ephesus, Revelations 2:4
"But I have a few things against thee" ......................... Pergamos, Revelations 2:14
"Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee" .... Thyatira, Revelations 2:20
"I have not found thy works perfect before God" ......... Sardis, Revelations 3:2
Only Philadelphia seems to have got it about right, but only by not "denying" the word. They still need to endorse it. (sloth: Dante)
