Acceptance                Betterment                Compassion                Compassion Description                Desire

"The power of love appeases our will so --
    We only long for what we have;
    We do not thirst for greater blessedness"

Should we desire a higher sphere than ours,
     Then our desires would not accord
    With the will of Him …"
                    The Divine Comedy, Paradiso Canto III:70-75

Spoken to Dante by Piccarda (Donati), an apparition (shade as Dante calls them) in the second sphere of paradise, Mercury. I take this and other statements attributed to conditions of mind in the afterlife, here and in Jesus red words, to apply to life on earth. Why wait for heaven to be appeased.?
