Idea of "Other"                                Science (origin of fire)

Concept of Other: The concept of the “other world” may have begun with the concept of a tool. A rock is not a rock, it is something “else” maybe a hand pad to smash a nut shell. The idea of something being more than it appears is a concept of “other than what is”. Then after other tools are learned, perhaps the “habit” of “hand”-ling things inured “people” enough to pick up a glowing stick after a forest fire, noting its warmth and a means of safety from predators. So perhaps Joseph Campbell is on to something and hand and tools lead the way to human concepts (myths) of spirits, ghosts, God and other “others”.
