Idea of God                              Self

Perhaps my thoughts that I have sometimes that I am as God-like as anything I know. The "son-of-man, bodhisattva, Atman, etc." are merely results of all the psycho-babble I've been fed about, "I am unique." I am a product of the "liberated" generation: minority rights (except WASPs), sexual rights (now focused on homosexual rights), woman's rights, human rights, post-World War II arrogant euphoria at being the strongest, rightest, moralest AMERICA!! God bless us all, especially America. I have also been fed since I was born a stream of "Love yourself before you can love others" "You are a child of God, made in God's likeness" "Be true to yourself" and other feel-good psycho-babble, mixed of course with incessant reminders of duty to community. So I took it to heart. I don't think many do except to claim their truth of "gimme because I deserve it as a child of God and I worked hard too". Perhaps I am but putty in the hands of fate; perhaps I am but a psycho-babble egoist who thinks he is God.
