Acceptance                            Death                            Idea of Time                            Souls                            Thought Process

Journal (J)

I Don’t Think: A sort of self-admonishment – two ways of expressing, “I don’t think dogs think about things much” and “I think dogs don’t think about things much”. They sort of say the same things, but one tells of one of the infinite things (“I don’t think”) while the other tells of one of a few things that I do think (“I think”) I prefer the latter; it seems to tell more about me because pointing out of a few is more distinctive than pointing out one of many, let alone infinite.

One Note Entry (ON)

Life Expectancy: ISTMRN that many believe we modern humans are extending human life expectancy; increasing average life expectancy proves it, right? Wrong, mostly. What has happened is learning to our wash our hands before feeding babies with nipples guided by the same hand we wipe our butts with. It is still quite a problem in some places.

Other things haven't done very much to change our time of dying. Heart disease and cancer are now big contributors to old age mortality. Some say conditions of stress in modern life cause heart attacks and some, many the same, say cancers are increasing because of chemical and radiation contamination that come with industrial, technological life. But we as humans seem to live no longer than our ancestors; it's just that a few more die older now, very few after age 30 or so until their 70's.

The mostly false prospect of additional seconds of life by living this way or that, doing this or that, eating this or that, or thinking this or that, propels many into a life of unneeded stress and anxiety: reaching ...... always reaching for that extra second somewhere down the line. Seems silly to me.

Each second is an extra second stolen from the eternity of nothingness and void. I have had billions of them and hope to have billions more. Somewhere in history written in the future is my cause and time of death. It may be now, or then. So what!

Another way which ISTMRN is much less stressful is to accept my genes and take prudent care but not worry about my weight, health, mortality, morality or meaning. I often reminded Heather of the flying saucer that could land on her head at any instant, without warning or malice. I think Jesus said the same thing in several parables of the "thief in the night".
