Reductionism: There is a strong bias in science toward the reductionist process. “Understanding” is cast in terms of partial differential equations that describe unfettered processes. A recent headline proclaimed an end to science upon mathematical convergence of gravity and electricity (et al.). Again, based on unfettered equations in realms where friction is so miniscule as to be negligible. But this will not be the end of science, just the beginning, because the world and its history is fettered.
