Consciousness Epistemology
An article in Discover implied a mapping of the brain may “explain” consciousness. The article totally misses the point of consciousness. Hell, we have had a pretty good map of the seat of consciousness, for what? 60,000 years or so, maybe a million or more. That is we have long since known it was in the head; all we’ve done is added lots of details to the map, but we still don’t have any idea how the map produces consciousness and your ability to read and understand these words. |
