"Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven"
        Matthew 7:21

"he shall reward every man according to his works."
        Mathew 16:27

"If a man love me he will keep my words: ........ He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings"
        John 14:23-24

"For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
        Matthew 12:34

"Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."
         Luke 11 28

These quotes all point to actions (including corresponding words) as the source of salvation. He points out that belief is expressed in words and actions that are always from the heart, at least the heart God and each person sees. He warns to be careful in saying "I believe", because your actions and words will betray you if your heart is not true; same if your heart is true. So you don't need to say "I believe"; it's obvious, unless you are trying to fool yourself or God. Compare the oft' quoted;

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life"
        John 3:16

Which is often used by people to say, if effect, "My belief overrides my sin."

I don’t think people sin, but they do.
