I think the last phrase is sort of a tongue-in-cheek joke. "If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me." by life, I would add John 9:54 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
