Human Carrying Capacity Equation

I drove to Madison, Wisconsin to present my Human Carrying Capacity Equation to the Sigma Xi Conference at the beautiful Monona Terrace Convention Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright on the shore of Lake Monona. The top-floor, open-air terrace gives an unobstructed view of the state capitol building about 3 blocks down the street. I gave a terrible presentation, which is unusual for me. I tried to cram a half hour presentation into 10 minutes, with 5 for questions. I left out half the facts and most of the segues between slides. My 10 page, double-sided handout of slides even forgot to include the reference list, which was one of the main points of my talk: I consulted the experts. I even announced before hand that the handout contained the references, which I thought it did.

I spent 75 dollars to reproduce 50 copies, and accepted an inferior darkness setting for slides rather that text for which the copy machine was set. I apparently left the reference list out of the package I handed to clerk at the copy shop. Stupid me! I could not hear the other presentations, even with microphones hooked into speakers, even with my hearing aids working. I decided then that I would not be attending any more professional conferences. I will just have to put my words of wisdom on this site. The idea for the carrying capacity equation was first discussed with Physics students at National Louis University in 2003; the first written version was sent as an email attachment to Mary Lou Nunamaker: March 21, 2012
