Pattern Recognition: Electronic surveillance today is news. I have some experience in this subject, as an ISP president and worker. The ISP experience informed me about the ease of capturing information (keystrokes even) for “users” for both commerce and law enforcement. I threw most away; but nobody does that anymore with legal liability and cheapness of digital storage.

What I had back then was primitive compared to the information capture compared to the present pattern recognition algorithms. I have some experience there too. My master project at Purdue was with LARS pattern recognition, the basis of remote sensing. We ran the programs on an IBM 360, state of the art computer at the time: a personal computer today.
