Compassion: I am of the opinion right now that compassion, altruism, etc, combined with the image of betterment of self and society rather than the height of human capacity, may be the depths. 7 billion and counting. So many poor people to raise up to civilized living; to fill consumers for their health and our wealth. 10,000 watts per person in the US, 3000 worldwide; whereas only 100 watts are needed to live. The “love” assemblage of emotions works perhaps too well, perhaps it is the cancer, and it is spreading. Science, near science, and pseudo-science literature is filled excoriations of industrial by-products in terms of human health. Human health and “saving lives” is paramount in some circles of thought. Many of the same people talk about “sustainability” without saying what is desirable to sustain. 1000 watts, ten times the amount to live? 200 watts? 20,000 watts? 100,000 watts?

Death: Despite claims that industrial and agricultural by products and killing us in unprecedented number, live expectancy of all age cohorts continues to rise. But to many analyzing death as to its causes, including “behavioral choices” and claiming “saving lives” or even hour of life, is paramount is a, shall I say, “duty”. 7 billion and counting all due to love, compassion for fellow humans.
