Swifts and Dragonflies: Watching the swifts feed on the sky, what marvelous fliers; the vertebrate equivalent of the dragon fly. I see a dragonfly also, in very dangerous territory among all the swifts darting, zooming, veering, taking their fill at treetop level. I wonder if the dragonfly can evade the swifts? Both are such beautiful fliers. As evening approaches, the sparrows and jays yield the skies to the real fliers, who show such maneuverability, speed, and grace. |
